Admission Policy

  • All applications for admissions should be submitted in the office counter by the date notified by the college. Applications will not be accepted after the due date
  • The admission procedure will be considered complete only when the full fees for the academic year are paid (against an official receipt) and the name of the student applicant appears on the relevant rolls.
  • All the admissions are valid only for one year and it has to be renewed for each subsequent year
  • All admissions are provisional and subject to enrolment and granting of eligibility by the University of Mumbai.
  • A student will not be re-admitted to the college if he/she has attendance deficiencies and serious complaints of indiscipline against him/her in the previous year.

Admission Process

  • Admission to the First Year B.A/B.Com/B.Sc.IT/BAF/ BMS classes is conducted as per the guidelines and schedule announced by the University of Mumbai. The schedule of admission is displayed on University website (http://mum.digitaluniversity.ac) and the Notice Board as it is received from the University.
  • Students must register online for admission through Mumbai University digital portal i.e (http://mum.digitaluniversity.ac) to seek admission. The university portal link to be eligible to seek admission. All admissions will be as per the University of Mumbai guidelines for respective courses.
  • All admissions are provisional, subject to the approval of the University of Mumbai
  • No student will be deemed as admitted to the college unless he/she submits the duly filled downloaded University and college form and has paid the necessary fees & deposits and obtained approval from the University.
  • Students coming from other colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai and selected for admission must apply for the Transfer Certificate in the prescribed form available in the college office. However, it is the responsibility of the student to obtain the Transfer Certificate and a No Objection Certificate from his/her previous College and submit it to the college office on time. If the Transfer Certificate is not submitted on time, the examination form will not be sent to the University.
  • Students are expected to attend all lectures, practicals and tutorials regularly. If any student takes up employment after securing admission to the college, college authorities will not be responsible for the consequences arising there from inadequacies in attendance requirements of the student.
  • Repeaters of the college will not be admitted as regular students. They will be permitted to appear as ex-students during the annual examinations.

Eligibility for Courses

Eligibility criteria for pursuing B.A. course Circular No. - No.UG/105 of 2004, Dated 15th March, 2004

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the three year integrated course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects :-

  • English
  • Any one of the Modern Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages or any classical Language or Information Technology.
  • Any four subjects carrying 100 marks each.
OR
Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with vocational subject conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects:-
  • English
  • Any one vocational subject carrying 200 marks prescribed by the Board from time to time.
  • Any three subjects carrying 100 marks each.
OR
Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with the Minimum Competency based vocational courses conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
Eligibility criteria for pursuing B.Com course Circular No. - No.UG/142 of 2010, Dated 1st July, 2010

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the three year degree course leading to the Bachelor of Commerce must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII - Commerce) examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

OR

Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with vocational subjects/minimum competency based vocational course conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

OR

Must have passed and examination of another University or Body recognized as equivalent to Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) Examination.

  • The candidate must meet the minimum cut-off criteria for taking admission.
  • The minimum cut off marks criteria depends on the college and subject to change every year.
Eligibility criteria for pursuing B.A.F course Circular No. - No.UG/395 of 2004, Dated 7th September, 2004

(a) A candidate for being eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) degree course shall have passed XII std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate at first attempt (40% in case of reserved category).
(b) Every candidate admitted to the degree course in the constituent/affiliated college/recognized institution, conducting the course, shall have to register himself/herself with the University. aggregate at first attempt ( 45% in case of reserved category).

Eligibility criteria for pursuing B.M.S course Circular No. - No.UG/80 of 2010, Dated 27th April, 2010

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the B.M.S. Degree Course shall have passed H.S.C. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination or Diploma in any Engineering branches with two years or three years duration after S.S.C. conducted by the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State or its equivalent examination by securing minimum 45% marks for general category (in one attempt) at the respective Examination and minimum 40% marks for the reserved category (in one attempt).

No college shall conduct any entrance test in any form and the admissions are purely based on merit duly following the reservation policy as per the norms of Government of Maharashtra. While drawing the merit list, weightage has to be given to students from Arts, Commerce and Science Stream at 12th standard level. The stream wise weightage to be given is as under :

The applications are to be accepted and processed by the colleges stream wise separately and the merit list is to be displayed stream wise taking into account the reservation policy prescribed by the Government of Maharashtra.

(a) The merit list is to be prepared and displayed stream wise. (b) In case if no applications are received under the “Diploma in Engineering and other Category” or if the seats remain vacant in “Diploma in Engineering and other Category” after all the merit lists/forms are exhausted, the vacant seats must be transferred to Commerce Stream. (c) In case if no application is received from any stream the vacant seats are to be distributed equally between the remaining two streams only. (d) After the first merit list is displayed, if any seat allotted to one stream remains vacant, the same shall be distributed equally between the remaining two streams. In case of vacancy in one stream is of single/odd number of seats, the single seat is to be allotted to the Commerce Stream. In case if no applications are available from the two streams, then all the vacant seats of such two streams must be transferred to the third stream. (e) Step (d) be repeated for the subsequent merit lists till all the forms are exhausted or the final merit list is displayed, whichever is earlier
Eligibility criteria for pursuing B.Sc.IT course Circular No. - No.UG./283 of 2007, Dated 16th June, 2007

(a) A candidate for being eligible for admission to the degree course of Bachelor of Science-Information Technology, shall have passed XII standard examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or it’s equivalent with Mathematic and Statistics as one of the subject and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate for open category and 40% marks in aggregate in case of Reserved category candidates.
(b) Candidate who have passed Diploma (Three years after S.S.C. – Xth Std.) in Information Technology/ Computer Technology/ Computer Engineering/Computer Science/ Electrical, Electronics and Video Engineering and Allied Branches/Mechanical and Allied Branches/ Civil and Allied branches are eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of the B.Sc. (I.T.) degree course.

However, the Diploma should be recognized by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognized Government Body. Minimum marks required 45% aggregate for open category candidates and 40% aggregate for reserved category candidates.

OR

Candidates with post HSC-Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Technology/ Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ and Allied branches will be eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of B.Sc. (I.T.).

However, the Diploma should be recognized by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognized Government Body Minimum Marks required 45% aggregate for open category candidates and 40% aggregate for reserved category candidates.

Eligibility Certificate

Candidates passing Class XII Examinations from Foreign Boards and students passing from International Baccalaureate or ’A’ levels examinations- General Certificate of Education/Cambridge International School Exam of Cambridge or University of London must first obtain a ’PRIMA FACIE’ Eligibility Letter from the University of Mumbai for the purpose of admissions to all First Year Degree Courses, namely First Year B.A/B.Com/B.Sc.IT/BAF/ BMS.

Students passing the Class XII from Boards/Universities other than Maharashtra State Board and seeking admissions First Year B.A/B.Com/B.Sc.IT/BAF/ BMS are required to apply for a Provisional Eligibility Certificate through the College at the time of admission.

  • Install Microsoft Silverlight on your computer, if you are using Windows Operating System 7 or lower version. The software is also available for free download on the University website http://mum.digitaluniversity.ac
  • Go through the prospectus of the college to know about the courses and/or subject combination(s) offered by the college, rules, regulations etc. before you fill the PRE -ADMISSION ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM.
  • One form can be used to apply for multiple courses i.e. more than one course and multiple colleges for every course i.e. the applicant can fill one form to opt for more than one course like B.Com., B.M.S., B.Sc. – IT etc. in more than one college for every course .
  • Applicants are requested to keep the following information material ready before they start filling the forms
    • Photocopy of the mark-sheet of the SSC / X Std and HSC / XII Std. of its equivalent examinations
    • Scanned copy of the Photograph AGAINST WHITE BACKGROUNG ONLY of max. 80 x 107 pixels size and max. file size of 10 KB.
    • Scanned copy of the Signature of max. 80 x 35 pixels size and max. file size of 10 KB.
    • Photocopy of any other certificate/s as required.
    • Valid e -mail id and mobile phone number for receiving mails and SMS from the University of Mumbai regarding the status of the application form.
    • Internet Connection with Internet Explorer ver.7.0 or higher.
  • Now log on to the University of Mumbai website http://mum.digitaluniversity.ac. Click on the link “ Pre Admission Online Registration” (available on the row below University of Mumbai on the home page).
  • The first screen seeks confirmation from the applicant that he has all the necessary documents ready. On confirmation, the applicant moves to the second screen. Click on “ Proceed” button.
  • The next screen i.e. the third screen, is the registration page where the candidate is required to enter The applicants name as it appears in the mark sheet of HSC (or Its equivalent) examination, Gender, date of birth of the applicant and the Mobile Number and email -id on which the candidate wishes to receive communications from the University. Click on “Register” after ensuring that the information provided is correct and true.
  • The student will get a login id and four digit alpha-numeric codes on submission of the form.
  • The applicant will be required to verify his/her registration and then change the password.
  • The applicant will log to the website and start filling the form by uploading his photograph and signature and enter the personal details, contact details and educational qualifications.
  • The applicant is required to take a printout of the e-Suvidha Kit and enter the confirmation code in the system and select and upload the documents he/her wishes to upload based on the requirement.
  • The applicant selects the college/s and course/s offered by the college/s. Applicant can opt for more than one college and/or one or more than one courses offered by the colleges from amongst the colleges selected and after verification submit the form. Once the form is submitted the student will NOT be able to make any correction in the form.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT THE University pre-enrolment form WILL BE SEPARATELY FOR EVERY COLLEGE AND FOR EVERY COURSE OPTED BY THE STUDENT.
  • Print the e -Suvidha ticket and note the Application Number generated and printed on the e-Suvidha ticket. The Application number will be generated only after printing the e -Suvidha ticket.
  • Enter the application number generated on the e-Suvidha ticket on your application form and complete the process.
  • The student is then required to take the hardcopy of the uploaded “Pre Admission Online Form” and submit the copy of the form to college/s, which he has opted for. The student is required to submit TWO COPIES of the “College Copy” to the college concerned.
  • University of Mumbai has instructed the colleges NOT TO GRANT admission to any student who has not registered himself/herself on the university website

Following Documents will be required at the time of confirmation of admissions.

  • Enrolment form filled online.
  • College Admission form .
  • Original Transfer Certificate / Leaving Certificate and attested two photocopies of certificates.
  • Migration Certificate (Other than Maharashtra state & CBSE, ICSE students).
  • Attested Xerox copy of 10th Mark sheet.
  • Original 12th marksheet and attested two photocopies
  • 4 Passport size recent photos.
  • 2 attested photocopies of Aadhar card

  • Admission for F.Y. B. Com will be given on the Merit Basis, kindly refer the schedule of First / Second / Third merit lists declared by college on Notice Board.
  • Yours Admissions will be cancelled if:
    • If found any false or incorrect information provided by you.
    • If you do not pay the admission fees within the prescribed period which is mentioned along with Merit Lists.
    • If you do not submit essential documents within prescribed time period.
    • If you do not submit your eligibility form within the prescribed time period.
