NSS Orientation

Established in 1969, the National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. NSS provides students of colleges and universities across India with meaningful opportunities to engage in community service, social development initiatives, and nation-building activities.

“Not Me, But You” — Service Before Self

Learn Through Service

NSS goes beyond the classroom by transforming students into socially responsible, compassionate, and confident citizens. Through voluntary service, students experience the realities of society, understand community needs, develop leadership skills, and learn the true meaning of teamwork and social responsibility.

NSS at Chembur Karnataka Night College has been associated with the National Service Scheme for more than three decades, providing generations of students with opportunities to serve society and contribute to meaningful community initiatives.

Through its NSS activities, the college strives to create a culture of service, leadership, unity, responsibility, and social commitment among its students.

Our Motto: “Not Me, But You”

The NSS motto, “Not Me, But You,” represents the core philosophy of selfless service. It encourages volunteers to place the needs and welfare of others alongside their own interests.

The motto reflects the values of empathy, cooperation, democratic spirit, social responsibility, and collective progress. It reminds every volunteer that individual development becomes meaningful when it contributes to the well-being of society.
